Speed-Lifts® are innovative, surface-mounted, and self-contained solutions designed for seamless integration into your facility. With no need for pits, bollards, or externally mounted hardware, these robust systems simplify installation, operation, and maintenance. This page is your go-to resource for everything you need to select the right Speed-Lift® configuration, prepare your site, set up and offload your lift, and operate it safely for long-lasting performance.
Site Assessment
An accurate Site Assessment is an important first step. Download the editable PDF below to complete for yourself or your customer to collect the details we’ll need to quote the proper configuration for both a new installation or a replacement.
Electrical Requirements
There must be a live electrical circuit with a properly rated breaker (see table below) available within 50 feet of your Speed-Lift. Typically, this is a separate disconnect box. Per the National Electrical Code (NEC), a disconnecting means for high-voltage equipment must be within sight (not more than 50 feet away) and readily accessible. If a lockable disconnecting means is provided and it is installed in a location that can be locked in the open position, it may not need to be within sight of the equipment it controls.
Each Speed-Lift (except the MobileDock) is sent with a 50′ long power cord. One end has a female connector to connect to the male connector coming from the lift’s control box and the other end will be unterminated with “pigtails” so that it can be hardwired into a disconnect or breaker box.
Pad Requirements
To take full advantage of the built-in impact protection provided by the Speed-Lift, we recommend that it be anchored to a concrete pad or wall. If placed on asphalt, we recommend that float plates and bollards be used to prevent truck impact.
We recommend a plain, 5″ thick concrete pad that extends 12″ beyond each side of the lift when the ramp is extended. For the example below, this would mean a pad that is 190″ long and 121″ wide. Refer to the cut sheet provided with your quote. See the “Anchoring” section below for more detail.
Where possible, flush mount the pad with the truck approach. IMPORTANT: If this is 5″ or greater, make that clear in the site assessment as it necessitates a different configuration.
Manuals
Warranty
- Speed-Lift Limited Warranty – 5-Year Parts & 2-Year Labor
- MobileDock Speed-Lift Limited Warranty – 1-Year Parts & Labor
The Speed-Lift warranty requires documented Preventative Maintenance every 6 months. This can be included in your quote.
Delivery
Your Speed-Lift is delivered fully assembled on a flatbed truck and off-loaded as close to the final position as possible. As it has wheels, it can be easily repositioned on a flat, level concrete surface. We will coordinate offloading unless you are able to do so. Delivery and offloading will be estimated on your quote.
Depending on the lift size and final location, offloading can be accomplished with a tilt wrecker, a forklift with extended forks, a telehandler (‘lull’), a boom wrecker, or a rotator for larger lifts.
Refer to the Owner’s Manual for more specific instructions.
Anchoring
Speed-Lifts® are anchored in place to ensure they remain stable and can withstand truck impacts.* We offer several anchoring options tailored to your specific application.
*Customers who frequently move their lift may choose not to anchor it, depending on their operational requirements.
